|SNAP Conference Invitation
|Invitation to the SNAP Conference for all to attend.
|We would like to invite all on the silentlambs email list to a special conference being held in St Louis, Missouri, June 20-22. The conference is the first annual conference for SNAP. What is SNAP? This is the description from their website,
SNAP (Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests) is a self-help organization of men and women who were sexually abused by spiritual elders (Catholic priests, brothers, nuns, ministers, teachers, etc). Members find healing and empowerment by joining with other survivors. SNAP was founded by Barbara Blaine of Chicago in 1989. We are an all-volunteer group with local chapters scattered throughout the United States and Canada. We also have a very active on-line e-mail support group with members from throughout the world.
The key day will be Saturday and William H. Bowen has been asked to speak about silentlambs and abuse awareness issues. We think this convention might give us a model for a future silentlambs convention as well as provide the opportunity to support fellow abuse survivors.
You can link to the website at http://www.survivorsnetwork.org and follow the links to conference information. The hotel is $69 per night along with registration for the conference. The registration form can be found on the website. They say you can lock in the rate if you register by the 27th of May.
We understand this is short notice but if you can make it we would love to see you there and will have silentlambs merchandise to pass out to those that attend.
