Catholic Molester
A Catholic priest that helped write law on how abuse is to be handled in the church is facing criminal charges for molesting a boy
NY Times - May 24, 2003 CALIFORNIA: CHARGES FOR CHURCH LAW EXPERT A Roman Catholic priest who is an expert on church law and who helped write an interpretation on sexually abusive priests faces a criminal charge of sexually molesting a boy in 1972, two years before being ordained. A complaint was filed on May 12 against the priest, the Rev. Gregory Ingels, who worked until recently at St. Bartholomew Church in San Mateo. Father Ingels, 60, was one of four experts who drafted the explanation of the child sexual abuse policy that the Catholic bishops adopted last year. The guide, issued in March, recommends how to put the policy into practice. (AP)
